Ocosta High School seniors Mary Davis and Emily Bjornsgard received first team all-state recognition from the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association. The duo had previously earned all-league offensive and defensive MVP recognition, respectively.
Davis scored 36 goals, had eight assists, and set a school record for game-winning goals in a season with nine. Bjornsgard tied the senior record for most shutouts in a season with six. Both players plan on pursuing soccer careers at the community college level next year.
Davis has been Second Team All State the past two seasons. She ended her career as the second all-time leader in several offensive categories: goals-82, game winning goals-20, shots-348. Bjornsgard is only in her second year of playing soccer after transferring from Naselle.
Ocosta last had two First Team All-League players in 2011.
