The driver of a motorcycle and his passenger were treated and released from Community Hospital early Thursday morning, July 2, after their bike struck an elk shortly after midnight near Grayland.
According to a State Patrol accident memo, the motorcycle was northbound on SR105 near Jacobson Road shortly before 12:30 a.m. when it struck the elk and came to rest in the roadway.
The driver, 48-year-old Walter Twidwell of Chehalis, was transported to Community Hospital along with passenger Rhonda Pepin, 44. Both were treated and released early Thursday morning, according to Community Hospital Public Relations Director David Quigg.
Twidwell’s 2000 Honda VT1100 motorcycle sustained reportable damage, but was driven from the scene of the accident, according to the State Patrol.
